Scientist/Sr. Scientist, Bioassay Pharmaceutical Sciences

Process Sciences - Bothell, Washington

Description

This position will focus on the implementation of biological assays to support the development and characterization of Seagen, Inc. (SGEN) antibodies and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs). The successful candidate will work closely with various functional areas within Process Sciences, Manufacturing and Quality Control. The successful candidate will develop, qualify and implement potency assays to support process development activities, drug product release and regulatory filings.

Principal Responsibilities:

Scientist

  • Develop, implement, and transfer potency assays to QC GMP group (cytotoxicity, binding, Fc effector function, and immunological assays) to support early- and late-phase product and process development
  • Drafting of potency assay method standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical reports and data summaries
  • Organize and present data at group meetings

Sr. Scientist

  • Develop, implement, and transfer potency assays to QC GMP group (cytotoxicity, binding, Fc effector function, and immunological assays) to support early- and late-phase product and process development
  • Identification and implementation of new technologies and approaches
  • Drafting of potency assay method standard operating procedures (SOPs), technical reports and data summaries
  • Organize and present data at group and department meetings
  • Represent Potency Assays group on project and departmental initiative teams
  • Supervise and mentor research associate(s)

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering or related discipline
  • Experience developing in vitro or ex vivo cell-based bioassays and immunoassays
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Candidate must be driven, high-motivated and be able to work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
  • Creative, independent, well-organized and solution-oriented

Preferred Qualifications:

Scientist

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • Preferred skills include immunology-related knowledge and experience including Fc effector function and adaptive T and B cell biology
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in immunological and general cell-based assays, ELISAs, homogeneous binding assays (AlphaLISA and TR-FRET assays), Octet, FACS, tissue culture and molecular biology techniques
  • Experience in the use of live cell imaging systems is strongly desired
  • Experience with use of high-throughput liquid-handling systems

Sr. Scientist

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience supervising direct reports
  • Preferred skills include immunology-related knowledge and experience including Fc effector function and adaptive T and B cell biology
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in immunological and general cell-based assays, ELISAs, homogeneous binding assays (AlphaLISA and TR-FRET assays), Octet, FACS, tissue culture and molecular biology techniques
  • Experience in the use of live cell imaging systems is strongly desired
  • Experience with use of high-throughput liquid-handling systems
