Principal IT Systems Analyst

Summary

The Principal IT Systems Analyst is a key member of the ERP Business Solutions team and is responsible for leading the deployment and implementation of Seagen’s ERP solution. They will collaborate with the ERP business users to manage, coordinate, and prioritization system enhancements. This individual should also work closely with the ERP analysts, developers, and administrators through the complete development life cycle.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manages, organizes, and directs releases that comprise of cross-functional teams, which includes enhancements as well as new releases and upgrades.
  • Manages and drives deployment risk mitigation practices (i.e., back out/contingency planning) for the duration of the release cycle to ensure an organized and successful deployment.
  • Conducts business analysis, requirements definition, systems analysis and application administration tasks.
  • Develops and stewards the Release Management process, along with establishing specific standards to govern the process.
  • Creates deployment plans, and ensures dependencies are identified and managed accordingly.
  • Work with the ERP business users to manage test plans through a Lifecycle Management solution and to ensure successful testing strategy for both GxP and Non-GxP testing.
  • Serve as the lead ERP release manager.
  • Participate in GxP validation/qualification of systems including may include writing, reviewing, and executing validation protocols.
  • Identify gaps between business needs and technical capabilities.
  • Create user documentation and train personnel on applications/reports/solutions, as required.
  • Continue to manage issue and bugs that may occur during testing or hypercare.
  • Develop effective working relationships with our ERP business customers and the ERP Business Solutions Team.
  • Assists ERP business customers in developing working scenarios for testing.
  • Communicate support issues, solutions, and progress to management.
  • Provides reports for and across all involved teams.
  • ERP Architecture and Roadmap – strategizing, prioritizing, and driving on the future state business needs.
  • Establishes and communicates release expectations, milestones, and release activity progress across all involved teams.
  • Creates and owns a lessons learned document and drives change to continually improve the release process.
  • Coordinates with various teams to manage release scheduling for all in scope applications and maintains the master release schedule. Proactively plans system patching and application upgrades/enhancements to minimize release impact and risk.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in supporting and implementing large scale IT solutions
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with experience building tactical plans
  • Experience in negotiating timelines and deliverables with a strong sense of urgency
  • Proven knowledge of IT solutions and application management through various product cycles and business environments
  • Ability to prioritize and quickly adapt to changing situations
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently
  • Project Management Certification a plus

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with biotech/pharma business processes and applications
  • Familiarity with GxP and ICH regulations and 21CFR, Part 11

Education and Experience:

  • 8+ years ERP experience with bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience in Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical GxP environment.
